Frequently asked questions

How do I let my partner or the grandparents see and log?

Turn on iCloud sync in Hotto's settings, then go to Family > Invite family and send the link by Messages or any chat app. They need Hotto on their own iPhone and must be signed in to iCloud; tapping the link adds them. Once they've joined, set their role, and choose "can make changes" or "view only" in Invite or manage.

Does everyone need to buy Hotto?

Everyone needs Hotto installed on their own iPhone. If you're in the same Family Sharing group, family members can download it at no extra cost. Hotto has no in-app purchases or subscriptions; every feature is included.

A family member uses Android. Can they see the records?

Hotto is iPhone-only. Use Share today to make a summary image for the family chat — no app needed to view it — or send the visit summary PDF.

How quickly do records sync?

Usually within a few minutes, and right away when you open Hotto. You can log offline; entries upload once you're back online.

Will I lose my records when I switch phones?

With iCloud sync on, install Hotto on the new iPhone and sign in to the same iCloud account — your records come back. Without iCloud, save a JSON backup in Export, Backup & Restore before switching, then restore it on the new phone.

How do I export my records?

Open Export, Backup & Restore. Choose CSV (opens in Excel or Numbers, bundled as one ZIP) or a full JSON backup. Restoring only adds records that aren't already on the phone and never overwrites; you can undo an import in one step.

How do I delete my data?

Delete entries from the timeline, archive a baby in Baby info, and stop sharing or leave a shared home. To clear data from iCloud, go to iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Hotto.

How do I adjust night mode? Why are notifications silent?

Night mode turns on automatically from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. You can change the hours, keep it always on or off, and turn off hold-to-log in Settings. Hotto never makes a sound on purpose; reminders are silent by default and only vibrate.

Will Hotto tell me how much medicine to give?

No. Hotto records temperature and dose times and reminds you after the interval you set yourself. It gives no medicine, dosing or medical advice — follow your doctor and the medicine label.
