Hotto Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 19, 2026

In short

Data we don't collect

Hotto is made by Nanologics. You don't need an account to use Hotto. The app has no ads, analytics, crash-reporting tools or third-party SDKs, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites. We don't operate any server that receives user data, so we don't sell, rent or share your personal information — we never have it in the first place.

Where your data is stored

Hotto stores the care records you enter: your baby's name, birth date, sex and birth details; feeds, diapers, sleep, solids, baths, temperatures, medicine and notes; growth measurements, vaccines and milestones; plus app settings and each family member's role in your home. This data is kept on your iPhone and, when iCloud sync is on, in your own iCloud private database (CloudKit). We don't run any servers and cannot see or access this data.

iCloud sync

iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit. Your data is stored in the private database of your Apple Account's iCloud and counts toward your iCloud storage. Names, birth dates, health and medicine fields are stored as CloudKit encrypted fields. Without iCloud you can still log everything; the data simply stays on this iPhone. To stop syncing, turn off "Use iCloud sync" in Hotto's settings, or turn off iCloud for Hotto in iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

Sharing

When you invite family, Hotto uses iCloud sharing (the CloudKit shared database). A shared home is stored in the iCloud of the person who created it, and invited people access it with their own Apple Account. The creator sets, person by person in "Invite or manage", whether someone can make changes or only view; a role (partner, grandparent, nanny, family) decides which features they see, and a nanny can log only the items you allow. Every entry shows who logged it. Invited people need Hotto on their own iPhone and must be signed in to iCloud. The creator can remove someone or stop sharing at any time, and anyone can leave; after leaving, the records don't stay on their iPhone. Apple handles the sharing; we can't see who joined which home.

Permissions

Hotto only asks for access when a feature needs it. Saying no won't affect anything else, and you can change your mind any time in the iPhone Settings app.

Notifications
Used only for reminders you turn on: when a medicine reaches the minimum interval you set, and at 9:00 a.m. on a planned vaccine day. Notifications are silent by default. Everything else works if you don't allow them.

Other details

Children's data

Hotto is made for parents and caregivers, not for children. Information about the baby is care records entered by a parent or caregiver. We don't collect any data from children; the records stay on your devices and in your iCloud (or the home creator's iCloud), and we can't see them.

Not a medical device

Hotto only records times and numbers. It doesn't diagnose, interpret temperatures, growth or diapers, or give medicine or dosing advice. Growth charts (WHO 2006) and vaccine schedules are for reference only; follow your doctor, the medicine label and your child's health records.

Widgets, Live Activities and shortcuts

Widgets, Lock Screen Live Activities, Control Center controls and Siri shortcuts read only a summary the app writes on this iPhone (App Group). Nothing is sent anywhere. You can choose to show only the first letter of names on the Lock Screen.

Exports and summary cards

CSV files, JSON backups, visit summary PDFs and daily summary cards are created only when you tap share, and you decide where they go. Once a file leaves Hotto, the app or service you chose handles it.

Purchases, Family Sharing and information from Apple

Hotto is a paid app. Purchases, refunds and Family Sharing are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. Apple gives developers anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as download counts), and if you've turned on “Share with App Developers” on your device, Apple may also share crash logs that don't identify you. Apple handles this information under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Delete a single entry from the timeline (you can undo within 5 seconds), and archive a baby you no longer track in Baby info. Stop sharing and other family members can no longer see the home. If you don't use iCloud sync, deleting Hotto removes all data on this iPhone. If you do, go to iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Hotto to delete the data in iCloud. We recommend exporting a backup first.

Children's privacy

We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
